Rarely do I speak of my personal life but this is something pretty big that I want to share. For the past six years, since 2016, I have not had a place to call my own. I gave up my last apartment in Manhattan, after living there for over 25 years, to set upon full time travel. Having just bought an apartment in Miami, I am giving this lifestyle of setting roots in the US again a chance and see how it goes.

I had most of my personal belongings in storage at a friend Johnny's basement (my friend Johnny was a lifesaver-saved me thousand of dollars!) since 2016. I had many of those items delivered from NY and then purchased many new items for the apartment. It is in the area known as Edgewater, right by Biscayne Bay. It is close to South Beach, Wynwood, Brickell and Downtown, all within about 15-20 minutes. I do know some people here from New York who moved down here years ago. I do expect many more of my NY friends to be coming down here at least for a second home purchase.

I had no idea how many masks that I collected over my years of travels. I kept opening up boxes upon boxes with more and more masks. Over the years I also collected snow domes and snow globes (there is a difference, glass or plastic) but so many of them were either broken, empty of water or really yellow water so I threw those out. Must have thrown out almost 100.
The building allows subletting of 30 days minimum so I plan of doing 30-90 day rentals of my apartment so I could split travel and home life and see how it goes. This is the part that worries me the most, renting out my apartment fully furnished with all of my belongings still there. I might post it up here once I make travel plans so keep an eye out if you or someone you know is looking for a great location, beautifully fully furnished 1-Bedroom in Miami.
